Three men, three instruments, more than three compositions and
definitely more than three sounds. The Trio has already made it's
mark in jazz circles, and now it's your turn to hear them. If you'd
like an updated on hard core New York-style jazz, this is the recording
for you. This is high energy jazz with three of the best individualists
on the Norwegian scene today.

The Trio is an Oslo based group consisting of sax, bass and drums.
It all started in the fall of 1995, when Petter approached Jarle with the
idea of playing in a chordless setting. It didn't take long to find the third
voice, Ingebrigt, who, together with Petter and Jarle, make up The Trio.
After a couple of months playing standards, the need to play original
material became more and more pressing. Aware of the groups potential,
Petter began writing music tailored to the bands members: Jarle with
roots in the polyrhythmic and Ingebrigt with an aggressive, free approach.

The result is an uncompromising trio playing original material filled with
surprising and innovative twists. "Meet The Locals" is The Trio's first
CD and hopefully not the last.
