”Spindrift” is a melodic, dynamic and inviting jazz recording which features Terje Gewelt’s singing fretless bass guitar.   The acoustic bass has long been Gewelt’s primary instrument.  On “Spindrift” he has gone back to his roots, rediscovering the unique qualities of the bass guitar and exploring the possibilities it presents in contemporary jazz.
“Spindrift” is also a tribute to bass legend Jaco Pastorius, Gewelt’s greatest influence and teacher.  It is now twenty-five years since Pastorius’s tragic death.

The fantastic musicians Eivind Lønning on trumpet, Bjørn Klakegg on guitar and Erik Smith on drums/percussion contribute greatly to making this a recording that will appeal to a wide audience, also outside of the jazz world.
“Spindrift” is Terje Gewelt’s tenth release on Resonant Music beautifully recorded at Resonant Studio.  All music is written by Gewelt.
